This is Maria Compton-Hernandez' list for Catholic mothers. As of autumn 2008, the list has about 150 members. There are a few ground rules for posting. I don't remember them all, but here are a few: * It's not possible to attach photos, mp3s, web pages or other large files to your message. Instead, tell us the web address (URL) where we can view it. You can probably create a web site for free through your ISP, if you want. * Very long e-mails (over 40 KB) are not accepted. * Mass mailings addressed to cathmoms and to a lot of other e-mail addresses all at once are not accepted. * It's not OK to reject Church teaching on this forum. If you have trouble understanding some teaching, or you don't know why the Church even cares about the matter, it's OK to ask. But we don't want this mailing list to turn into a debate forum like so many others. * Some members of the list take an interest in reported apparitions or other mystical messages. But they're a source of controversy too, so please don't post about them here until after the local bishop has approved them. * If you have a business, it's OK to mention it in the 1-2 line "signature" at the bottom of your e-mails, but please don't send out promotional messages to the list. * We don't hear often from Maria Compton-Hernandez, the list-founder, these days, but we're still operating by the ground rules she set up, 'cause they're agreeable to us. Occasionally, we hear from Richard Chonak, the postmaster. He does the technical work for the list and owns the machines for gabrielmass.com. He's been the accepted token male on the list roster since the beginning, so don't be surprised to see his name on a posting now and then. * Be kind to everybody! Using cathmoms
To post a message to all the list members, send email to cathmoms@lists.gabrielmass.com. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to cathmoms
Subscribe to cathmoms by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
